At the beginning of April 2023 I found a lump on my breast. My wife insisted I see my GP which I did next day. He arranged for me to have a mammogram and ultrasound.

They discovered a 12mm lesion and 5 days later they did a biopsy and a fortnight later I got the results showing grade 2 cancer. A week later I saw a gynecologist expecting to have a simple lumpectomy.

On the 9 May I had a mastectomy, and my sentinel lymph gland was removed. It is now 6 weeks since my mastectomy. The results of the analysis of the sentinel lymph gland thankfully showed no metastasis and therefore my oncologist decided that chemotherapy wasn’t necessary. That said next Thursday I start Radiotherapy 5 times a week for 3 weeks and then 5 years of hormonal treatment.
