Assistant Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute,

Dr. Leone’s clinical research focuses on brain metastases, male breast cancer and novel therapies in the treatment of breast cancer; he has co-authored 58 peer-reviewed articles and participated in 3 clinical trials in the past 15 years.

Kara N. Maxwell, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor of Medicine & Genetics, Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania; Staff Physician, Corporal Michael Crescenz VA Medical Center, Philadelphia, PA

Dr. Maxwell is the Director of the Men and BRCA Program within the Basser Center for BRCA at Penn Medicine and also the Director of the Cancer Genetics program at the Philadelphia VA. Her laboratory studies mechanisms of tumor formation in patients with inherited forms of breast and prostate cancer.

Morrison Professor of Breast Cancer Research, Professor of Surgery, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Indiana University School of Medicine; Associate Director of Education and Co-Leader, Breast Cancer Working Group, Indiana University Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Nakshatri studies the molecular drivers of therapy resistance in breast cancer. His group has developed various model systems to study breast cancer initiation and progression in both women and men.

Professor Nick Orr, PhD; School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences, Patrick G. Johnston Centre for Cancer Research at Queen’s University, Belfast, Ireland

Professor Orr is the Lead Researcher of an international consortium working to uncover genes that lead to breast cancer in men. The consortium, known as MERGE, is focusing on discovering and characterizing new genetic risk factors for male breast cancer by analyzing DNA from 5,000 men.

Kathryn Ruddy, MD, Professor of Oncology (with a specialty in male breast cancer) and Consultant for the Division of Medical Oncology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN

Dr. Ruddy is a medical oncologist who specializes in breast cancer patients. She has special expertise in male breast cancer and studies the long-term and late effects of cancer treatments, and how best to care for cancer survivors to enhance their quality of life and reduce symptoms.

Dr. Urruticorchea is Medical Oncology Specialist whose research focuses on molecular biology and the treatment of breast cancer, with a particular focus on endocrine resistance. He is Vice Chair of GEICAM (The Spanish Breast Cancer Group), where he co-leads the Spanish Registry of Male Breast Cancer.
