Vice President, Communications & Strategic Partnerships
Kathi is the President and Founder of Edelson Communications, LLC (founded in 2001), a public relations and marketing firm specializing in “best practice” strategic marketing, media relations, brand imaging, corporate communications, and events. A seasoned writer, public relations and marketing professional with more than thirty years’ experience in the private/public sector, Kathi spent most of her career focusing on the luxury retail/lifestyle markets, but for the last 10 years, shifted her focus to concentrate on working with non-profit organizations to organize, strategize and maximize their major fundraising events. Before launching her own company, Kathi spent several years as a high-level development professional in various performing arts organizations including Carnegie Hall and the Metropolitan Opera. Her development experience combined with her marketing expertise gives her unique skills and broader perspective on how to build, forge and foster mutually rewarding partnerships.
As a two-time breast cancer survivor whose first diagnosis was at the age of 42, Kathi has donated an exceptional amount of professional pro bono and personal volunteer time to help organizations engaged in the fight against breast cancer, including Susan G. Komen (former North Jersey Affiliate) and the Male Breast Cancer Global Alliance (formerly the Male Breast Cancer Coalition). She was awarded the Volunteer of the Year “Angel” Award from Susan G. Komen (New York City Affiliate) and was recognized by Komen North Jersey as a Journey of Courage, a unique photographic essay of survivors who “demonstrate an extraordinary boldness and braveness in taking their breast cancer journey public so that others may gain hope and courage from their experiences.” She is infinitely devoted to improving the lives of survivors, both men and women, and committed to help ease the journeys of all those diagnosed with breast cancer. She is an experienced and passionate advocate at the state and federal levels, working to ensure that men gain equal access to the same treatment and care as women.
