Donald “Boysie” Bollinger

In 2022, I began noticing changes in my right breast. My nipple was retracting, and the skin around it had become crusty. Something didn’t feel right.

On February 14, 2023, I pointed out the issue to my doctor during my routine executive physical. He took immediate action, sending me for a biopsy. Two weeks later, on February 28, I received the devastating news: I had malignant breast cancer. The urgency was apparent—I needed to act fast.

By March 5, 2023, I underwent a radical mastectomy on my right breast. As soon as I had healed from surgery, I began an intense regimen of chemotherapy, followed by radiation. It was a grueling process, but I pushed through.

Today, I am completely healed of cancer. My only remaining treatment is a five-year course of medication to monitor and prevent recurrence.

This journey was one of the toughest battles of my life, but I made it through. I am grateful for the swift action of my doctors, the support of my loved ones, and the strength I found within myself.
